Records. Diabetes Cures, 1904-1983.

Correspondence, advertisements, articles and clippings, and promotional and supplementary materials concerning "cures" for diabetes. There are one folder of special data, 1910-1983, and nine folders of correspondence, 1912-1974. The balance of the series comprises files on specific "cures." Among the more significant are the Diabetic Institute of America, Diabetol, Kaadt Diabetic Institute, and William Henry Porter. Some of the individuals offering various "cures" were chiropractors, food faddists and other practitioners of alternative medicine; some were also involved in other questionable and/or illegal practices such as selling narcotics to addicts.
